review
one of the rare occasions that i read the manga & watched the anime!!! & i'm so glad i did lawl
the anime adaptation is strictly faithful to the manga, which i found pleasantly surprising. the music and art are peak too, perfectly translating kei urana's unique style into animation. to be honest, it took me a while to adjust to the second anime opening (i don't fw mori calliope...). it grows on you after a while, though.
rudo is such a refreshing protagonist. i've honestly grown a little jaded of the stale self-righteous archetype that takes it among themselves to save the world with a positive & peppy attitude. rudo's rage & spiteful perseverance made it so amusing to watch him develop.
the concept of special objects makes for quite an interesting story; making way for compelling backstories & interesting fight scenes. the fights are composed in entrancing ways, seamlessly combining the distinctive fighting techniques among special object wielders -- literally the best part of this series so far.
to be frank, i'm so fucking jealous that i didn't come up with this first. like, the story of gachiakuta is so unique, exploring a setting similar to lawless kid, but combining it with supernatural abilities & gorgeous aesthetic. it's genius.
overall, 9.5/10
super solid! unfortunately, since it's still ongoing, i can't judge based on overall merit until i see the ending (the manga is projected to have 250+ chapters. as of writing this, its on 159 lol)
